Our journey starts here:
– First 6 days of adventure in Russia;
– Azerbaijan’s border in Dagestan, walking along Baku (Days 6-7);
– Sights of Azerbaijan and way to Georgia (Days 8-9).
We are on Azerbaijan and Georgia border. You will pass Georgian customs very quickly. Most probably you wouldn’t even have to leave your car. Usually they simply check your passport, ask about your baggage and let your in. No need to buy an insurance for your car or pay weird taxes on land, air or sun 🙂
50 kilometers to Tbilisi. Here is the end of the 9th day of the trip.
Day 10
The morning began with visiting Didube Pantheon.
Famous Mamadaviti Church.
Some beautiful views can be found here!
Another point of interest is Narikala Fortress. We started with its lower level and visited all ladders that we found on our way 🙂
Having fun on playing yard.
This fountain seems to be out of service.
This ice can handle 200+ kg of weight! 🙂
Let’s go up…
Riding the rope-way.
The city view.
Let’s keep walking on higher fortress levels.
And go back down after.
Tbilisi Sioni Cathedral was the next point of our interest.
We keep walking. Metekhi Church is the next.
Mtatsminda Sameba – the highest cathedral of Tbilisi.
Hmm… That tower seems to be nice! Let’s reach it!
Funicular goes up to the tower.
The way is quick. And we’re on the Mtatsminda mount!
Mtatsminda Park paths…
And here it is! The tower!
After a little rest in hotel, we are back on the streets of Tbilisi.
New Year 2014 open-air concert on the Europe Square.
Traditional fireworks!
New Year 2013 event was held on Marjanishvili Square. We have couple pictures of it.
Wine Shops are trying to attract people’s attantion.
This is a traditional Georgian Christmas tree – Сhichilaki!
These weird Christmas Trees are being cut with a special knife from a hazelnut tree sticks.
Day 10 comes to its end. It is already late and we are going to Armenia tomorrow…
