Kutaisi is famous for its caves. We have already published an article about Sataplia Cave. This article is about even more beautiful one – Prometheus Cave (also known as Kumistavi or Tshaltubo Cave).
GPS coordinates for Garmin/Navitel: N42.376728, E42.600828
The length of this natural monument is 11 kilometers. And only 1060 meters of it are open for visitors.
The route begins with narrow and curvy path which leads to a ravine.
Small dark corridor next…
And we’re inside!
It is warm and wet here, classical music playing, exciting forms and colours are surrounding us.
It is like a fairy tale… No one wants to get out 🙂
The tunnel leading to reality is quite grey after all…
But reality is much better then tunnel! 🙂
In summer, when there is more water river, tourists are getting out of tunnel by a boat…
…and walk around by stoned paths.
A small mini-bus will drive you and your family to the cave’s entrance.
